Salford City FC Foundation was proud to attend a special Ceremonial Mayor’s Reception last night, celebrating the Foundation’s role as one of the Mayor of Salford’s chosen fundraising charities for the year & the football club in the city’s 100th year.
The event brought together representatives from across Salford City FC and Salford City FC Foundation, to celebrate the work being delivered across the city and the importance of working together to create positive opportunities for local people.
The evening included speeches from Ceremonial Mayor of Salford, Robin Garrido, Salford City FC Foundation CEO Martin Ingham-Griffith and Salford City FC CEO Gavin Fleig, highlighting the strong relationship between the Foundation, the football club and the wider Salford community.
Speaking at the reception, Ceremonial Mayor Robin Garrido reflected on the importance of supporting local organisations and the difference that community-focused charities can make across Salford.
The club was also represented by a number of members of the Salford City FC first-team squad, with captain Luke Garbutt joined by Dan Udoh and Ade Oluwo at the reception.
Their presence highlighted the important role that players can play in supporting the Foundation’s work and engaging with communities across the city, helping to strengthen the connection between Salford City FC and the people it represents.
Staff from across both Salford City FC and Salford City FC Foundation were also in attendance, demonstrating the breadth of the partnership and the collective commitment to supporting communities across Salford.
As one of the Mayor’s chosen fundraising charities for the year, the Foundation is delighted to have the opportunity to work alongside the Ceremonial Mayor and support his fundraising efforts throughout the year.
The partnership will help shine a light on the Foundation’s work across its three key areas of Education & Employability, Health & Wellbeing, and Community Engagement, with programmes designed to empower, educate and improve the lives of people across Salford.
