The Salford City FC Foundation is delighted to announce the return of Stroll for Salford, with the popular fundraising walk back for its second edition on Saturday 19th September 2026.
Following the success of the inaugural event, supporters, families, businesses and members of the local community are once again invited to take on a six-mile walk across the city, raising vital funds to support the life-changing work of the Salford City FC Foundation. Last year the event was started by our co-founder Paul Scholes & the Ceremonial Mayor of Salford.
This year’s event holds even greater significance as it forms part of Salford’s Centenary Year celebrations, giving participants the opportunity to celebrate 100 years of the city while making a lasting difference to local communities.
The Stroll for Salford will begin outside the Salford Civic Centre in Swinton at 10:00am on Saturday 19th September 2026.
Participants will follow a route of just over six miles, taking in a number of Salford landmarks to commemorate the city’s centenary before stopping for refreshments at the Old Fire Station Café on the University of Salford campus. The walk will then conclude at the AIG Stadium, home of Salford City FC. All supported by the Greater Manchester Army Cadet Force (GMACF) who will help to ensure our walkers get around the route safely and successfully.
Whether you’re returning after taking part in last year’s event or joining us for the first time, Stroll for Salford promises to be another fantastic day of community spirit, celebration and fundraising.
Every participant is asked to pledge to raise a minimum of £100 for the Salford City FC Foundation, helping us continue to deliver programmes that improve lives through sport, education, health and wellbeing across the city.
As a thank you for taking part, every walker will receive:
- A Stroll for Salford T-shirt
- A complimentary ticket to Salford City’s home fixture against Swindon Town, taking place after the walk
- A commemorative finisher’s medal to mark completing the challenge during Salford’s Centenary Year
Every pound raised will help the Foundation continue making a positive impact across Salford’s communities.
